Thom Ruth – August 10 , 2025
Obituary for Thom Ruth
Thom was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Ruth; his mother, Vivian-Thompson-Ruth-McMorris; his sister, Karen Sue Ruth; his brother, Ricky Ruth; his son, Ryan Ruth; his sister-in-law, Michele Rae Powers; his precious grandmother, Donnie Thompson; his precious aunt, Virginia (Ginny) Miller; and his special cousin, Sandy Lejune.
His surviving family includes his wife, Rochelle, of 47 years; his son, Colby Ruth; his brothers, Barry, Ronnie, and Kirk Ruth, and their families; and Thom’s many other family members and special friends.
Thom graduated from Henryetta High School in 1968, then enlisted in the United States Air Force — convincing a few of his friends to join with him. He ended his six years of military service with the rank of Staff Sergeant, serving in Taipei, Taiwan, and in Vietnam.
Upon returning home, Thom worked at the glass plant before starting the job he enjoyed most — working at Charlie Ruth Ford Inc. for 27 years. If you were ever fortunate enough to go on a test drive with Thom, you either loved it… or kissed the ground when you got out of the car. He won many awards and trips for his outstanding performance as a sales representative in his district.
Thom owned and operated Rocky’s for 40 years, Rochelle Ruth Properties Inc., and the Taco Mayo in Henryetta. During that time, he returned to Charlie Ruth Ford and Charlie Ruth Oil Co. to help his dad, and also took on the Weleetka Shell station and the Fountainhead Shell station — adding them to his workload until his health no longer allowed him to continue.
Although ill, Thom still laughed and continued to have fun and enjoy life to the fullest. I know he would want to thank you if you helped him in any way.
Thom was blessed with an outstanding personality that allowed him to have fun almost every day. He was fun to watch — especially when he was peeling out, even on Main Street. He just loved having fun in his cars. He was definitely one of a kind.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Nazarene Church with Rev. Lowell Churchill, officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the US Air Force. Services are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
