Election Day in Oklahoma’s Senate District 8: Live Coverage Begins Tonight at 6:30PM

Henryetta OK — Today, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, voters in Oklahoma’s Senate District 8 are heading to the polls to elect a new state senator. The seat became vacant following the resignation of Republican Roger Thompson on November 1, 2024. The district encompasses Okmulgee, Okfuskee, and McIntosh counties, as well as parts of Creek and Muskogee counties

Candidates on the Ballot

  • Bryan Logan (Republican): A pastor and small business owner from Paden, Logan secured the Republican nomination after winning the April 1 runoff with 55.56% of the vote.
  • Nathan Brewer (Democrat): A businessman from Henryetta, Brewer is running unopposed in the Democratic primary.
  • Steve Sanford (Independent): Serving as the Ward 1 representative and vice mayor on the Henryetta City Council, Sanford is focusing his campaign on local governance and community issues.
