Labor Day Memories, Business Dreams, and Family Life in Henryetta with Christina Agee

Mornings with Missy – Christina Agee on Family – Business – and Coming Home to Henryetta

Henryetta, OK October 2 – The debut episode of Mornings with Missy set the tone for a heartfelt and inspiring new series. Host Missy welcomed her first guest, Christina Agee, for a conversation filled with laughter, memories, and a look into how one Henryetta native returned home to invest in her family, business, and community.

A Journey Away—and Back Again

Christina, originally from Henryetta, shared her journey from living in downtown Oklahoma City with her husband Kevin to making the full circle back home. During her time in the city, she became certified in third-party food safety audits for large manufacturing companies. Her work connected her with organizations like the USDA and FDA—experiences she now carries with her into entrepreneurship.

In 2014, Christina and Kevin launched Three Bears Sales and Rental in Henryetta, a family business born from their Muskogee Creek heritage. The name honors Kevin and his brothers’ Bear Clan roots, with “Three Bears” symbolizing their shared vision. Today, the business offers trailers, portable and metal buildings, and equipment rentals, while Christina oversees online marketing and sales.

Balancing Family, Work, and Community

Running a business while raising two young boys isn’t easy, but Christina approaches it with humor and resilience. Working from home alongside her husband, she often finds herself juggling online promotions with nap schedules, or heading to the shop on Saturdays while her mom watches the kids.

“Being a stay-at-home mom and a working mom is honestly the most important job you can have,” Missy noted during the interview, praising Christina’s ability to manage both worlds.

Christina also brought along her favorite coffee cup—a mug passed down from her husband’s grandfather that reads “Really, I’m fine” with a comically upside-down cow. For her, the cup is a reminder to laugh through life’s chaos.

Building Business and Community Growth

Three Bears Sales and Rental has grown from equipment rentals into a multifaceted business. Christina explained that customers come from not only across Oklahoma but from out of state, drawn by the shop’s location and online presence. Her dedication to marketing has helped spotlight products that many locals didn’t even know were available.

But Christina’s vision extends beyond her family business. She’s passionate about Henryetta’s growth, hoping to see more businesses thrive, fewer vacant homes, and stronger reasons for future generations to stay. This passion led her to join the Henryetta Labor Day Committee, helping to keep the community’s longest-standing traditions alive.

Labor Day Memories and Looking Ahead

For Christina, Henryetta’s annual Labor Day celebration holds special meaning. As a child, she looked forward to the parade, and as a teen, she volunteered under the late Ruby, who dedicated herself to the event. Now, as a committee volunteer, Christina is helping shape the festival’s future, from parades and car shows to the growing hot dog eating contest that has already put Henryetta on the map.

“We want Henryetta to be a destination, not just a pit stop on the way,” she said, emphasizing the importance of events like Labor Day in bringing visitors and energy into the community.

Looking Toward Henryetta’s Future

As the interview closed, Missy and Christina reflected on what makes Henryetta special. Christina’s hope is that her children will want to stay and build their lives in the town she proudly calls home. With families like the Agees investing their time, energy, and creativity into both business and community service, Henryetta’s future looks promising.

The episode also highlighted the joy of building new connections. “I really believe we’re going to be friends,” Missy said with a smile. Christina agreed, noting how shared passions for family, business, and community often create bonds that last a lifetime.

Mornings with Missy airs Tuesdays at 10 a.m., bringing real conversations, community spirit, and personal stories from across Green Country.
