Obituary for Robert Hunnicutt – December 13 2025

Robert Hunnicutt, a longtime resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed from this life on December 13, 2025, at the age of 87.

He was born on October 25, 1938, in Lenna, Oklahoma, to Ralph Rosco and Lola Mae (Parker) Hunnicutt. On May 15, 1959, Robert married the love of his life, Judy Fry, in Dewar, Oklahoma, and together they shared many years of marriage and ministry.

Robert faithfully served his community as the sexton for the Henryetta and Okmulgee Cemeteries for many years. Answering God’s calling to preach the Gospel, his ministry led him to serve churches in Boynton, Wilson, Hoffman, Dustin, Ulan, and Eram. He also served as Pastor of the Bryant Community Church, where he devoted his life to sharing God’s word and caring for his congregation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph Hunnicutt Jr. and William Wesley Hunnicutt; and three sisters, Maudie Faye Gatlin, Sally Ruth Poteet, and Janet Hunnicutt.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Hunnicutt, of the home;
his daughter, Sharon McManus and husband Frank of Henryetta;
his son, Steve Hunnicutt and wife Jenny of Henryetta;
grandchildren, Kyle McManus and wife Reilly, Ghessica Collett and husband Brian Blake Bardin, Jacob Hunnicutt and wife Alexis, and Kurt Hunnicutt.
eight great-grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Dewar First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Bible, Rev. Ryan Wells, and Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Salt Creek Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home.
